Consultation-first
Cosmetic consultation
The cosmetic consultation is where everything at MT Aesthetics begins. It is a private, one-on-one conversation with Marie Thompson, Registered Nurse: your concerns, your medical history, your skin examined properly, and your options explained in plain language. Nothing is decided before you are seen, and nothing is ever recommended just to make a sale.
What happens in the room
You talk first. What bothers you, how long it has bothered you, what you have tried. Marie then assesses your skin and, where relevant, your medical history and any medicines you take, because safe cosmetic care is medical care.
- Your concerns and goals, heard without judgement.
- A proper skin assessment under good light.
- Options explained honestly, including the option of doing nothing yet.
- Costs and realistic timeframes for any plan you choose, before you commit to anything.
Why consultation-first matters
Some cosmetic treatments are only appropriate after an individual medical assessment, and Australian rules rightly keep it that way. That is why you will not see every treatment we can discuss listed on this website, and why we never book a new client straight into an advanced cosmetic treatment. You start with the consultation; the plan comes from there. Your care is designed to respect TGA and AHPRA guidance, with the same high standard of service throughout.
Good to know
Consultations are unhurried and private. Bring a list of any skincare you use if you can. If a concern turns out to need a GP or dermatologist rather than a cosmetic clinic, Marie will say so plainly, because that is what a nurse should do.
Frequently asked
Do I need to know what treatment I want before I book?
No. Most people book with a concern, not a treatment in mind, and that is exactly what the consultation is for. Marie assesses your skin and explains what would genuinely suit it.
Will I be pressured to book a treatment?
No. The consultation is an assessment, not a sales pitch. If the honest advice is to wait, start smaller, or see your GP first, that is the advice you will get.
Can I have a treatment on the same day as my consultation?
For some treatments, yes, when Marie assesses it as appropriate on the day. For others a separate visit is the safer path. It is decided case by case, never assumed.
How booking works
Consultation-first, always
Your care is designed to respect TGA and AHPRA guidance, with the same high standard of service throughout. For any medical aesthetic concern you start with a consultation, so your plan is built around you, honestly and in person.
