About
Meet Marie
MT Aesthetics Skin & Beauty is owned and run by Marie Thompson, a Registered Nurse who is also a qualified beautician. It is a combination you rarely find in one practitioner: clinical training and medical judgement on one side, a beautician's craft and eye on the other. The clinic opens in September 2026 at 139 Winbin Crescent, Gwandalan, bringing both under one roof on the southern shore of Lake Macquarie.
Two crafts, one standard
As a Registered Nurse, Marie brings the discipline that clinical skin care demands: proper assessment, honest screening, sterile technique and the judgement to say 'not yet' or 'see your GP first' when that is the right answer. As a beautician, she brings the finishing touches that make people feel looked after, not processed. Whether your appointment is a cosmetic consultation or a lash lift, the standard of care is the same.
Why Gwandalan
Advanced skin care has always meant a drive: down the M1 to Sydney, or up to Newcastle, for anyone living around the southern lake. Marie is local, and MT Aesthetics is her answer: a genuinely local clinic for Gwandalan, Summerland Point, Lake Haven, Toukley and Kanwal, and the southern Lake Macquarie areas of Swansea, Caves Beach and Belmont, with city-standard care and none of the commute.
How the clinic works
Cosmetic and clinical skin treatments are consultation-first: you are assessed before anything is recommended, and Australian advertising rules mean some options are discussed only in that private setting. Beauty services book straight in. Reviews are invited from every client the same way, and our care and our website are designed with AHPRA and TGA advertising guidance in mind. Marie's AHPRA registration details will be displayed here from opening.
Frequently asked
When does the clinic open?
September 2026, once the fit-out is complete. Bookings for opening month are open now, and you can follow along on this site.
Where exactly is the clinic?
139 Winbin Crescent, Gwandalan NSW 2259, on the southern shore of Lake Macquarie, an easy drive from Summerland Point, Chain Valley Bay and Mannering Park.
Is Marie really both a nurse and a beautician?
Yes. Registered Nurse and qualified beautician. It means the clinical work is done with medical training and the beauty work is done with a specialist's craft, in the same room, by the same person.
How booking works
Consultation-first, always
Your care is designed to respect TGA and AHPRA guidance, with the same high standard of service throughout. For any medical aesthetic concern you start with a consultation, so your plan is built around you, honestly and in person.
